U.S. urges India and Pakistan to work towards a “responsible solution” as tension escalates after Pahalgam attack

Washington has been in touch with India and Pakistan, urging them to work to achieve a “responsible solution” as tensions escalate following the Pahargam attack in Kashmir, the State Department said on Sunday.“This is a growing situation and we are closely monitoring developments. We have been in touch with the Indian government and Pakistan at multiple levels,” a U.S. State Department spokesman told Reuters in an emailed statement.
The spokesperson added: “The United States encourages all parties to work together to achieve responsible resolutions.”
The spokesman also reiterated Washington’s position, saying the United States “stands with India and strongly condemns Pahalgam’s terrorist attacks”, responding to the latest remarks of President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

Army officials reported on Monday that India remains a crucial partner of the United States, especially Washington trying to boycott China’s influence in Asia. Similarly, Pakistani forces continued to violate the ceasefire and resorted to the Ponic and Kupwara regions of Chass and Kashmir. This marks a growing tension between New Delhi and Islamabad amid tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad following last week’s terrorist attacks in Pahalgam. The National Agency for Investigation (NIA) took over the investigation into the Pahalgam terrorist attack, which resulted in 26 fatal attacks, which led to the PTI report.

The NIA team, led by police inspector general (including police deputy inspector general) and senior officials of the police chief, was attacked on Tuesday in Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

Investigators are pieced together a series of incidents that have led to one of Kashmir’s deadliest terrorist attacks and are carefully studying the entrance and exit points of clues entering terrorist surgery.
