Ugrappa accuses BJP supporters of sparking a “Janivara” campaign to deepen social divide

Former Congressman and Congress leader Ugrapa claimed on Saturday that BJP supporters triggered the “Janivara” line to further widen the social divide.
Ugrappa, also vice chairman of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, said the controversy broke out in Shivamogga, an indigenous land of former chief minister BS Yediyurappa and his son Vijayendra.
Coincidentally, Bidar reportedly visited the region among the Japanese BJP leaders including the party’s governor Vijayendra, the party’s state president, R. Ashok, the opposition leader of the Legislative Assembly, and opposition leaders of the legislative committee Chalavadi Narayanaswamy.
Mr Ugrappa claimed that the incident had been attributed to Shivamogga’s family guard, who had spoken with the officials concerned, including the police station in the area and the minister in charge of the area. Congress leader said he spoke with officials about the incident even in the Vidal area.
Mr Ugrapa said he suspected that BJP supporters triggered the “Janivara” line to fuel the ongoing debate on the caste census and further widened the social divide, and Mr Ugrappa said the matter should be investigated to bring up the truth.
