UIP launches expand immunization services

The National Health Department launched an expanded immunization service under the General Immunization Program on Wednesday at all 500 functional health and welfare centers.
Health Minister M. Subramanian launched the program at the HWC Center in T. Nagar, which is said to be able to perform 100% routine immunization in the state to prevent preventable diseases in the state, and all UIP vaccines will be available in the HWC every Wednesday. Currently, this arrangement is available in all 2,286 primary health centers.
He added that the government will soon entrust another 208 HWCs and will be vaccinated there.
Under UIP, 11 vaccines are provided for children and pregnant women to prevent disease by targeting 12 vaccines. Vaccinations against Japanese encephalitis are also available in 15 endemic areas. According to him, the state always reaches more than 99% of the immunization coverage every year, with about 950,000 pregnant women and 876,000 children/infants vaccinated under UIP.
Immunization courses are offered daily at all primary health centers, government medical schools, regional headquarters, pediatric units at Taluke and non-Taluke hospitals. An publicity meetings will be held every Wednesday in villages and towns.
The minister explained that the vaccine was maintained by a vaccine provided by the coalition government. Mr. Subramanian learned that they were transported to regional vaccine stores by refrigerated trucks and then distributed to regional vaccine stores.
Health department officials, including the Minister of Health, Director of Public Health, and Director of National Health Mission, other than Health Officials of the Greater Chennai Company, also attended the company.
