Ascending kidney disease worry about Telangana Govt

Hyderabad: People in nearby villages reportedly reported similar problems after about 40 people with Mala Gurijala, who has kidney disease in Bellampalli Mandal, Manchurial.

A Mar Pasham from Fazilnagar village in Mandal, rural Rajanna-Sircilla Vemulawada filed a complaint, with about five people reportedly dying from kidney disease in the past year.

Pasham posted his handle on X (Twitter): “In the past four years, 10 people have died of kidney disease in our villages. Five of them died on their own last year. One of them was my mother,” he said, marking Health Minister C. Damodar Rajanarsimha.

According to government data, 94 centers in the state receive 13,732 dialysis services per month. Over the past year, 16 new dialysis centers have been established, with increased work transitions in 27 centers and 119 beds to provide more services to patients.

According to the latest research by AIIMS Bathinda and George Health Institute, Telangana is the second state after Andhra Pradesh, where the most children are found to suffer from impaired kidney function. These children belong mainly to rural areas.

This has given some revelation to the state’s burden of kidney disease. However, government officials are unable to provide data on the number of children or adults with chronic kidney disease or impaired kidney function.

The minister responded to reports of kidney disease in Mala Gurijala by directing health officials to set up medical camps in the village and conduct medical examinations for all villagers.

He directed them to submit a report of how many people in the village suffer from kidney disease and to find out the same cause. He also ordered the test of water samples from the water used by people in the village. Fazil Nagar, Amar village in Sircilla, ordered the same order.

“According to Dr. G. Sridhar, senior consultant of Telangana nephrologist, there are about 800 patients per 100,000 people with kidney disease,” he said. Of these, about 1.5 million cases of severe chronic kidney disease per 100,000 people. ”
