UK’s Eyes EU Agreement to ease trade and improve security

Prime Minister Keir Starmer will host EU leaders in London on Monday to reset ties since the UK left the EU in 2020 four years ago.
Starmer is cautious about the Brexit domestic fight against Brexit and, with his chief campaigner Nigel Farage, a fierce political rival who is trying to obtain a deal that includes the tangible interests of the British to offset the concessions it would require to make to Brussels.
The UK hopes the deal includes the use of faster electronic gates on EU borders, reducing the traditional tape festival of food trade, and a new defence and security partnership that could allow British companies to obtain EU loan schemes worth 150 billion euros ($167 billion).
It also hopes to agree to links to better immigration smuggling gangs in the energy and carbon markets, mutual recognition of certain professional qualifications and access to touring artists and data sharing.
