Andhra Pradesh Home Minister V. Anitha accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of incubating conspiracies to incite religious tensions in the state.

“The YSRCP is resorting to deceptive strategies to disturb public peace. The sole aim is to incite religious clashes. The party is running malicious campaigns against the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to smear its reputation and tarnish the image of the government,” the Home Minister told the media after the State Cabinet meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

Ms. Anitha refers to the death of Praveen Pagadala, Hyderabad priest of Rajamahendravaram, who claims that YSRCP is trying to use the incident to provoke religious tensions.

“Although the priest died in an accident, the YSRCP launched a false message that portrayed it as a murder,” the Home Secretary said.

Ms Anitha criticized former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, who said those who once held such a position are now dragging the agency into politics.

“TTD EO J. Syamala Rao clarifies the facts about TTD and its cathedral. Tirumala is a sacred place. YSRCP leaders are using TTD as the focus of carrying out malicious campaigns. Working to make the image of TTD and TTD calm and TARNISH unquestionable.”

Ms Anitha refers to Tirupati Laddu’s controversy, saying that the on-site investigation will be completed soon and the person in charge will be punished. “Those who do things wrong cannot escape. Punishment is inevitable,” she said.

The interior minister recalled that false propaganda about pink diamonds was spread earlier. She said that even the Archaeology Department is still on tour.
