Union Minister Kishan Reddy urges to ensure increased IIT seat allocations to Telangana

Chanagani Dayakar, official spokesman for the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), submitted a memorandum to Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Saturday to ensure that IIT seat allocations for Teleangana students are increased and a new IIT is established in the state. He noted that IIM was established in 26 states and emphasized the special care and responsibility for Telangana students.
Welcoming the recent decision of the central government to expand IIT on Tirupati, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka, and to spend Rs 118,287.9 crore, Congress leaders stressed that IIT Hyderabad established a good stake in 2008 and established a good rank at the national level and improved a good rank at the national level to improve its good rank at the national level. He highlighted the need for IIT Hyderabad expansion and added 590 seats.
The memorandum highlights the rapid development of Telangana in technological advancement and education. Mr Dayakar has 1 million students applying for degree and engineering courses each year, and 200,000 students from Telangana apply for JEE Dee Mains, stressing the need to increase opportunities.
Mr Dayakar requested the establishment of a new IIT and Indian Institute of Management (IIMS) in Telangana, citing the benefit of students.
The memorandum urges the central government to take into account the future of Telangana students and allocate more IIT seats in the IIT, given the state’s favorable environment for education, medicine and industry.
