Lokayukta seeks detailed reports on so-called violations of the Ministry of Urban Development

Karnataka Lokayukta has directed the Urban Development Department (UDD) to submit a detailed report, which is detailed despite the alleged irregularities associated with the posts of the Municipal Administration, despite the close to 50%.
Under the order, Lokayukta has directed an investigation into the allegations and requested a comprehensive report. The directive follows a complaint filed by social activist Jagadish MS, who claims that despite the high vacancies, the department continues to pay salaries to employees who have not been assigned to mail, thereby causing financial losses to the public finances.
The complaint further claims that UDD has paid about Rs 4 crore to employees on the waitlist without being designated as a formal duty. Furthermore, it claims that in some cases, junior officials were reportedly mailed for positions targeting senior officials, which was sent to due to preference. The complaint states that lack of experience is hindering effective management.
Lokayukta’s directive follows a preliminary review of the submission of documents that suggest potential abuse of authority within the department.
