Public Harmonious Meeting held on April 13 at Vijayawada

The Andhra Pradesh chapter of the Public Harmony Association is organizing the “Manchester United Harmony”, a national public harmony conference held on April 13 at Mogulrajpuram in Vijayawada at the PB Siddhartha Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Rajya Sabha member and chairman of the Minority Ministry of All India Congress Committee (AICC) will serve as the chief guest, while the public interest lawyer of the Supreme Court and the recipient of Ramon Magsaysay Award Prashant Bhushan will receive the event.
In the run-up to the Sunday’s meeting, Mr. Prashant Bhushan will participate in an interactive session with students of Siddhartha Law College at Kanuru on the topic “Electoral Reforms for Strengthening Participative Democracy in India” at 11.30 am At 3 pm, he will participate in a get-together with the Bezawada Bar Association members and discuss “Constitution under Assault and Rule of Law”, followed by an interactive session with young laws on “bench and bar relationship.”
“Andhra has a long history of public harmony. People here are known to have passed the coexistence of peace and today seem to be facing threats,” said the State Vice President of the K. Vijay Rao Association.
In a press conference on Friday, he talked about how past societies engage in cultural absorption and past and coexistence societies maintain a unique identity while blending and showing respect for each other’s traditions. He said public harmony is a need for the hour, and he urged people from all walks of life to participate in the event and strengthen public harmony.
Former Minister Vadde Sobhanadreeswara Rao pointed out that community violence and tensions “are eroding this harmony.” He said secular values should be protected so that peace prevailed.
He slammed the BJP government, which resorted to the center of polarization in communities that appealed to political gains. This vicious design is highly condemned, he said. Referring to the WAQF Amendment Act, which he claimed was the property of the BJP in occupying the country’s Muslim minority.
Senior CPI (M) leader Ch. Babro said the country urgently needed harmony. “Recently, Andhra Pradesh has been witnessing public and religious harassment as a serious threat to the structure of the group between people,” he said.
