Biju Patnaik statue catches fire in Balangir district in Odisha, CM guarantees action

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, in the statue of former chief minister and legendary leader Biju Patnaik in the Balanjir region, assured those responsible for shooting Operation Stern, after Biju Janata Dal condemned the act of the Destruction Act.
Mr. Majhi expressed pain at the incident in which Patnagarh burned the statue. The Chief Minister pointed out that the person involved in the incident must be a coward and a sick person and he directed the police to take strong action in the incident.

Biju Janata Dal (BJD) condemned the incident for a demonstration at Biju Patnaik International Airport, accusing the Mohan Majhi-LED government of being addicted to fighting politics.
“Biju Patnaik is a symbol of Odia’s pride and a freedom fighter who contributed to the liberation of three countries. He went beyond political affiliation and belonged to all Odias. Destroying his statue is not only a crime, but an offense to Odia’s identity,” said BJD leader Sanjay Das Burma. He added: “The silence of the state government is both shocking and unacceptable.”
