The UOH Student Union (UOHSU) urges Natarajan to work with expert faculty and researchers to take steps to allow unions to conduct damage assessment investigations and collect biodiversity data at Kancha Gachibowli Land.
According to the news agency PTI, in a memorandum submitted to Natarajan, the union demanded that all charges against students named in various FIRS be withdrawn. It said the two were still in prison.
Although the Supreme Court is still living, police are still stationed throughout the campus, creating unreasonable obstacles in students’ daily lives, demanding immediate withdrawal of police forces from campus.
Claiming that 2,300 acres of land were established during the tenure of then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for academic and research purposes, the student union urged Natarajan to take steps to register the entire land, including in the name of the university, including 400 acres of land at Kancha Gachbowli.
Sources said the students gave a detailed introduction to the issue, and Natarayan later assured the union that she would bring the issue under the leadership of the party.
Natarajan has asked the state government to discuss this issue with all stakeholders.
The government-appointed ministerial committee held talks with stakeholders, including Deputy Chief Minister Malu Bhatti Vikramarka, Industry Minister D. Sridhar Babu of UOH alumni and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Srinivas Reddy.
“She (Natalai) said the government should also hear its (students and others) objections and await the Supreme Court’s ruling on the land issue. We will consult with all stakeholders and we should give a patient hearing.”
Congress leaders said the Kancha Gachi-Bowli land belongs to the state government and currently has distributions in court and retained it.
