Uttar Pradesh police relieved Sambar Circle official Anuj Choudhary from Sambar Circle officials after allegations related to his remarks made during the Holi and Eid celebrations. However, former Indian Police (IPS) official complainant Amitabh Thakur criticized the state government for calling it “blocking” the officer despite alleged violations of police conduct rules.

Mr Thakur, an IPS official of Uttar Pradesh cadre in 1992, expressed dissatisfaction with the inquiry report and said he had ignored what he called “sufficient evidence” in the public sphere. “Despite clear evidence that his statement violates the rules of service, the investigation report (law and order) submitted by the Chief of Police (law and order) caused disturbance to Mr. Choudur. thisHinduism. He further claimed that senior officials had previously supported the official’s remarks and accused DGP of violating his constitutional oath and protecting Mr. Choudur.

The report dated April 16, prepared by SP (Law and Order) Manoj Kumar Awasthi, concluded that no reliable evidence was found during the investigation of Mr Thakur’s complaint. The findings were subsequently submitted to the Special Secretary at home by the Inspector General (Law and Order) LR Kumar on April 17.

The inquiry quoted statements from two people, namely Jitendra Verma and Mohammad Yasin, who demonstrated the peaceful legal and command situation during Holi and Friday prayers. They reportedly praised Mr. Choudhury for his efforts in maintaining public harmony.

In response to the controversy, Mr. Choudur insisted that some people seeking political mileage misrepresented his remarks. “Some people mistakenly link my comments to a particular religion for their own benefit,” he said.

The relevant speech was presented at a meeting of the Peace Commission held at the Sambar Kotvalli Police Station on 6 March. Mr Choudhury allegedly said: “The Color Festival is once a year and Friday [namaz] Occurs 52 times. I suggest my Muslim brothers who believe that the colors during the Namaz period are inappropriate until the Holi celebrations fade. ”

The statement sparked sharp criticism, although Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath subsequently defended the official, noting that Mr Choudhary might say “ Pehalwan [wrestler]. ”
