UPSC Exam: Two doctors from Karnataka are in the top 50

Two candidates from Karnataka managed to earn the All India Ranking (AIR) 50 list in the Civil Service (MAIM) exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
R. Rangamanju from Bangalore received Air 24 and became a state priority, while Sachin Basavaraj Guttur of Haveri District successfully obtained Air 41 assurance.
The son of the IPS officer
Dr. Rangamanju, son of former IPS official R. Ramesh, achieved the feat in his sixth attempt. “There are no strategies for success besides consistency, patience and hard work. My father was my biggest inspiration. He died while at an IPS official,” he said.
“I completed my education at Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute in the National Public School, Rajajinagar and medical graduation. This is my sixth test attempt, so this time I was lucky to be able to do it. I owe my mother, which is my greatest support. He added.
“I took anthropology on the main exams. I didn’t have any training on the preparatory courses or major exams. I did group research with friends. We have solved previous problem papers. I got interview guidance at a college.”
The farmer’s son
Another grade holder, Dr. Sachin B. Guttur, received the No. 41 Air 41 in CSE, the son of a farmer brick manufacturer and home manufacturer. He graduated from JJM Medical School in 2019, and he chose a civil service and made his fourth attempt.

Sachin is a native of Kodeyala Hosapete in Ranebennur, Haveri District, where he studied until Level 10 at Met School in Harihara, before completing PUC at Vaishnavi Chetana PU College in Davanagere, and then joining JJM Medical College, pursuing MBB as his father wishes.
Although he went to Delhi to prepare for the civil servants in 2019, he had to return due to the pandemic on 19. He continued his preparations in Bangalore after Covid-19 and after his first attempt he went to Delhi again.
In his previous attempts, he was not eligible for an interview. “But I continued to work hard, analyse and correct my mistakes. The support and encouragement of my parents helped me succeed,” Dr. Sassin said.
His father, Mr. Basavaraj, expressed happiness for his son’s success, and he said he wanted his son to become a doctor and he completed his medical education. “However, he later chose to prepare for the civil servants and has been working hard for the past five years,” he said.
This year, more than 30 candidates have managed to crack CSE from Karnataka. Anupriya Sakya managed to secure Air 120, and former president of the Karnataka Resident Doctors Association (Kard), also received AIR 615.
