Med City proposes on 50 acres of land near Rajamahendravaram Airport

Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) proposes to develop a medical city (medical city) on 50 acres of land near the airport. It also tries to convince existing hospitals to move out of the city in a phased manner.
In the Danavaipeta area of Rajamahendravaram alone, nearly 250 hospitals and clinics pose various challenges to vehicle movements, especially the operations of ambulance services and emergency health services.
On April 17, the first negotiations on the proposed Medi city were with the management of hospitals under the asylum of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), representatives of the Rajamahendravaram chapter and municipal commissioner Ketan Garg.
“The IMA has briefed the proposal to develop a medical city. It is also asked to make its requirements and feasibility to move out of the existing locations of hospitals and clinics,” Mr Garg said in an official press release.

RMC urban planner S. Kottayya tells Hindu“The IMA is expected to share ideas and requirements for its infrastructure in its feasibility report. It will also list the challenges of the proposed Med City. The proposed projects may appear near the airport.”
Mr Kottayya said: “The Med City proposal is part of the city planning. However, another round of negotiations will be held in May. The purpose of the proposal is to meet the needs of people planning to expand existing hospitals and build new ones.”
GVVSN Murthy, Chief Program Officer of Rajamahendravaram Urban Development Bureau, and other officials participated in the talks. Dr. Datla Satish, Dr. Durga Prasad, Dr. Kandula Sumant represents the Indianam Medical Association.
