‘Using water as a weapon’: Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif convenes Indus River Trip with Iranian President | Indian News
A few days after India suspended the Indian water treaty, the threat of water shortage in Pakistan is imminent, relying on water demand from the Chenab River. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called Narendra Modi after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called on his Iranian counterpart and raised the issue of Indus Water Treaty Suspension. Sharif also weaponized the so-called India during a call with Pezeshkian. Sharif was also shocked by the explosion at the Shahid Rajaee port in Bandar Abbas, Iran.

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian called Narendra Modi and strongly condemned India’s terrorist attacks on the territory of the Jamu & Kashmir Union and expressed condolences to the victims. Both leaders agreed that there could be no reason for such terrorist acts and that all those who believe in humanity must stand in the terrorist attack. ”
The MEA further stated: “The Prime Minister shared the anger and pain of the Indian people and their determination to respond firmly and decisively to the terrorist attacks and those behind their supporters. PM also expressed his condolences for his death in the Bandar Abbas explosion today and hoped for a quick recovery from the injured.”
Bandar Abbas explosion
The huge explosion hit Iran’s port of Shahid Rajaee in Bandar Abbas, with at least 14 people killed and 750 others injured. Huge thick gray smoke was seen from the Shahid Rajaee port complex. The Iranian government said the explosion could be related to stored chemicals.
Pahalgam terrorist attack
On April 22, a group of 5-7 terrorists entered Baisaran Meadow, a popular tourist destination in Pahalgam, and identified non-Muslim tourists one by one and shot most of them. The terrorists killed 26 people, mainly tourists. The attack attracted widespread global condemnation and support for India.
