Uttam slams Paddy

Hyderabad: Civil Supply Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday urged senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao to stop the “daily false movement” and said there is no truth in the allegations of the BRS leader regarding the status of Paddy’s procurement.
In an article on X, Uttam Kumar Reddy shares a comparison chart of Paddy’s procurement in an article on X. This is much more than the same 29.88 LMT in the previous Yasangi season, in the same period of 2022-23 and 19.62 LMT.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said the current figures show that it has increased by 44% last year, more than 120% compared to two years ago. He said the Congressional administration has established more procurement centers and simplified actions to benefit farmers directly. The government is committed to ensuring the minimum support price commitment, each father-in-law, paying Rs 500 bonus for high-quality rice fields and prompt procurement to provide relief to Paddy tillers.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said Telangana had a record performance in Paddy’s production. During the Vanakalam (Kharif) season, 153.5 lmts of Paddy was produced from 6.67 million acres, while the ongoing Yasangi season saw Paddy grow on 5.5 million acres of land, producing another 127 LMT. “Telangana produced a total of 280 LMT of rice in one agricultural year, which has also achieved historic achievements not only in the history of the state, but also nationwide. Despite the collapse of the Kaleshwaram Project, this rare and extraordinary feat is achieved in the agricultural landscape of India,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said.
