The interior decor of the No. 16 coach Vande Bharat Sleeper Express train, modular toilets and aerodynamic front end now comes with the “Sri City In In Sri City” tag.

India BFG India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bahrain-based BFG International, which is manufacturing train cabins at its manufacturing facility in Sri City, established in 2009 to provide world-class fiber-fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) solutions. The company has been providing lightweight, durable and fire-resistant FRP products to the railway, marine, wind and infrastructure sectors.

BFG India has recently entered a new field, beginning with ambitious design, manufacturing and installation of interiors, modular toilet cabins and aerodynamic front ends for Vande Bharat Sleeper Express.

The train has 823 berths and 51 toilets, including access to cabins. BFG is the first to offer the FRP panel of EN45545 HL3 in India and provides an advanced front end to ensure high fire safety and structural integrity. “Vande Bharat’s sleeper project revolutionizes railway infrastructure with world-class, lightweight and durable solutions. We are honored to be part of it,” said BFG Vice President K. Premoarty.

It may remember that the company provided the inaugural Vande Bharat Express for the first Vande Bharat Express in a record 10 months, creating 329 FRP panels in various colors to match design specifications.

The same is true for the subway project

The company has also played a key role in the subway project in India by making driver cabins, sidewalls and partitions for Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Lucknow and Gauchi Metro. The company provides components such as passenger seats, driver consoles and aerodynamic masks for the Mumbai monorail project as well as Medha Bogies Private Limited.

Ferry-based transportation

In addition to railways, the company has contributed to Kochi’s Railwater Company, which is considered the first ferry-based urban transport system in India.

A 25-meter-long 6.5-meter full-caust catamaran ferry superstructure was built in the SRI City facility using vacuum infusion technology. Each carrying capacity of 100 passengers is assembled at the Cochin Shipyard.

“Seeing the ‘manufacturing @Sri City’ products in multiple areas including rail and marine transport companies,” said Ravindra Sannareddy, founder and managing director of Sri City.
