Vedanta Ltd founder and chairman Anil Agarwal recognized the slogan “Drilling Baby Exercise” by U.S. President Donald Trump, which plans to increase production of fossil fuels in the United States. He highlighted how Trump’s slogans are recognized worldwide.

Agarwal, referring specifically to India, said that self-reliance in energy will help create jobs and address poverty in the country.

He wrote: “In India, our government has adopted a very positive attitude.

Due to India’s resources, Agarwal further highlights how the “drilling baby drill” leads to Viksit Bharat.

He added: “We can be a global leader in this field considering our abundant geology.

Donald Trump’s drilling policy

After returning to the Oval Office on January 20, Donald Trump reiterated his drilling slogan to highlight his commitment to domestic oil development.

Trump said at the inauguration: “The inflation crisis is caused by a lot of overspending and rising energy prices, which is why today I will also announce “Drilling, baby, drilling! ”

Donald Trump mentioned his plan to declare a national energy emergency to boost U.S. oil and gas production. The national emergency will also aim to significantly expand drilling in the world’s top oil and gas producers. Related to the move, he described the intention of the U.S. to withdraw from the Paris Climate Treaty for a second time, a global effort to combat planetary warming as catastrophic weather events intensified around the world.
