Earlier Veera Chandrahasa, It feels like you’re watching a long night show. Yakshagana, Ancient coastal art form. Several scenes played for so long, maybe 15 minutes or more, that they felt like they were directly off the stage. In this sense, the film is a sincere ode to Yakshagana.
Music composer Ravi Basrur, kgf and Salar, Wearing the director’s hat Veera Chandrahasa. Basrur tells the story of Chandrahasa, a popular story of orphans who became king of the Kingdom of Quintala in the form of a performance by Yakshagana.

For a while, experimental appealing felt immersive. However, novelty doesn’t last long. Veera Chandrahasa The lack of basic movie elements can maintain engagement throughout the run (three hours and 20 minutes away). The film benefits from the spark of humor, probably a study of the character of the Chandrahasa central character. A simple narrative of the basic treatment of an old story and script makes the movie look a bit outdated.
Basrur has no backup music fluctuations between vibrant and earbuds. The sound mix brings the spirit of Yakshagana to life, giving justice to the theme of the film. Excellent performances can make the rhythm of Yakshagana’s performance just, Prasanna Shettigar plays the confrontationist Dhushtabuddhi, as an outstanding performance. Shivarajkumar uses his extensive experience to bring royalty to his cameo.
The climax of the movie reminds you of Cantala (2022). Basrur has the same intrinsic effect on the final part of Rishab Shetty’s film, almost pulling it apart. But the monotonous stacking of the last scene means that your grip isn’t as good as you watch Cantala.

Basrur plays his strengths, but the film may benefit from some kind of adventure. The shoddy VFX and dull action sequences prove that the movie needs a bigger canvas.
What if Yakshagana, as a tool, reflects modern conflict? Perhaps Basrur and his team can explore this concept to enable future attempts.
