Two men arrested under the POCSO Act were arrested for sexual harassment of underage girls in Musiri

Two men were arrested on suspicion of sexual harassment in the Tiruchi area under the protection of children from sexual offences (POCSO).

The victim studied VII and IX at a public school and was found lost when she arrived. The teachers involved took them to a nearby government hospital and then transferred them to Tiruchi MGMGH for treatment. Sources said the girls were allegedly sexually harassed.

The case was registered after a victim’s mother filed a complaint with the Musiri All Women’s Police Department. After the investigation, police arrested Ajith, 20, a worker at a local welding shop, and Kesavan, 23, a daily wage worker in Mettupalayam near Musiri.

The defendants were booked under the POCSO Act, which was released in the Maheila State Court on Friday and remanded in judicial custody.
