Sunday’s Democratic Knowledge Freedom Union (DAKF) described the Supreme Court’s May 9 decision which dismissed the Delhi High Court order directing the evacuation of Wikipedia pages related to court litigation, a milestone in protecting media freedoms and civil liberties in the country. DAKF State President K. Anvar Sadath and General Secretary T. Gopakumar said the verdict emphasized the importance of freedom of speech and freedom of speech in Article 19(1)(a) of the Indian Constitution.
