Vijay promises to protect minority rights

Chennai: Vowed to protect the rights of minorities by standing and upholding the country’s constitution, Vijay, president of Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, urged the state government led by Chief Minister MK Stalin, to place itself in the case of the WAKF Amendment Act and put forward the arguments of minorities through an independent legal battle.

In a message on X on Wednesday, Vijay wondered when to talk about the DMK government against the WAKF Act amendment and the amendment to safeguard Muslim rights, in fact, was taken by taking appropriate measures for it.

Claiming that his party has argued with senior legal counsel Abhisek Singhvi about the case against the Supreme Court’s WAQF Amendment and that TVK played a role in the fight to protect minority rights, Vijay said that the DMK government approved the bill in parliament when Parliaments were discussing WAQF Bill.

Vijay’s predictions about himself as a champion of minority rights when he discovered AIADMK’s O Panneerselvam faction on TV, with the option to reach an alliance.

Although the faction has claimed to be part of the NDA and has expressed hope to merge with AIADMK itself, its supporters saw TVK as an alternative to the alliance at a meeting held on Wednesday.

Many leaders who spoke at the meeting convened by Panneerselvam to raise opinions on the 2026 General Assembly Election Coalition, which could be considered TVK as an option if the organization fails to get due recognition from the BJP.

The group fears that AIADMK may even be deprived of enough seats to compete under Edappadi K Palaniswami, and is eager to put it down.

Similarly, DMDK is said to be in trouble with the establishment of a league in 2026, and TVK is said to be considered an option. It is said that Palaniswami is totally disliked in the DMDK, they provide them with the seats they might need, and the DMK league is believed to have been packed with almost no space.

But besides the lack of options, a recent poll also gave TVK 95 to 105 seats and a 34.55% voting share, which could be the reason for AIADMK’s Panneerselvam faction and DMDK to demonstrate interest in collaboration.

Although the obscure poll that said to have opened an account on Channel X only in February had no credibility as a pollster, the results that appeared on social media a few days ago were a big shock to many.

Because it says DMK has only 30.20% of the vote share and can only win 75 to 85 seats, while the AIADMK Alliance (BJP) is part of which 27.85% of the votes can win 55 to 65 seats.

While only TVK’s lower-level cadres can promote the results on social media, the investigation has not been completely rejected by major political parties or even media organizations as Hogash.
