Vijay Varma is known not only for his versatile performance fragments, but also for his bold fashion choices. In an exclusive interview with Deccan Chronicle, the actor talked about what drove his style and shared his excitement for the upcoming project.

Different from others, you are also a fashion icon. What inspired your fashion choices?
I always think fashion goes beyond traditional gender boundaries. For years, I have embraced styles and elements traditionally associated with women’s fashion, such as exquisite fabrics, bright colors and intricate jewelry. This fusion allows me to express my personality and challenge regular norms. Working with my designer Vrinda Narang, played a big role in curating appearances that resonated with my personal style and the various characters I portrayed.
How do you describe your personal style and make it unique?
My personal style is an eclectic blend of comfort and bold experimentation. I like to mix elements traditionally seen as feminine with male outfits to create a distinct look. This approach allows me to express myself truly and challenge traditional fashion norms.
Make you stylish accessories?
A pair of carefully selected sunglasses, a statement watch, minimalist jewellery, classic handbags and multi-purpose scarf are accessories I often incorporate to enhance my outfit.
Tell us about upcoming projects
I’m so excited about “Ul Jalool Ishq” – it’s a beautiful, rich love story. I also wrapped up with “Matka King,” a bigger story than life, about a person who discovers a vulnerability in the system and makes the most of it.
How do you choose a role?
I believe in pushing boundaries and constantly seeking to challenge my characters and styles. It’s about seizing opportunities that can make growth and work with directors who see the potential I might see.
