Manjrekar made two key remarks about the 36-year-old’s combat capability during the game. Initially, Manjrekar suggested that Kohli did not perform at his peak when facing Jasprit Bumrah. Later, the former Indian captain failed to join Kohli in a social media post, highlighting the top hitting performances in IPL 2025.
Vikas entered the social media platform thread in a straightforward and unapologetic way to address Manjrekar’s comments. He noted that Manjrekar’s own career ODI strike rate suggests that it’s easy to criticize the player’s performance when it doesn’t reach the 200-plus batting strike rate itself.

Two weeks later, Manjrekar released a “batting only roster” that included seven players, as well as the total number of runs in IPL 2025 and strike rates on X, formerly known as Twitter. However, Kohli’s name is not on the list.
