Vizag Airport sees air traffic, rising airplane movement

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Airport’s increase in passenger traffic and aircraft movement in April 2025 compared to last year reflects the growing demand for air travel in the region. According to the Andhra Pradesh Air Travelers Association (APATA), the number of passengers at the airport increased by 11.58%, with 244,665 passengers using its services, up to 219,265 in April 2024. The number of aircraft also increased by 7.32%, reaching 1,906%, to 1,906 on April 2025.
At the efforts to expand domestic and international connectivity at Visakhapatnam Airport, the surge in air travel has occurred. Officials hinted that new flight routes have been introduced, improving access and convenience for travelers. This expansion is expected to enhance the city’s position as a key hub for air travel and strengthen business and tourism opportunities.
Apata acknowledges support from the Minister of Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu and Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat to improve air connectivity and promote growth in regional transport.
