Leaders of Bihar National Democratic Union (NDA) allies have slammed West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s remarks against Nitish Kumar, demanding that he support the WAQF (Amendment) bill in both parliaments.

Ms Banerjee met with Muslim religious leaders in Kolkata on Wednesday (16 April 2025) to hit the mom on NDA Key NDA Allies Nitish Kumar and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to keep mom on WAQF issues.
“Why are Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu silent on this issue? They are NDA partners and they remain silent to share some power,” she said.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh responded to Ms. Banerjee’s remarks, told reporters in Patna: “She wants to turn West Bengal into Bangladesh by making such comments.
JD (U) State Spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said: “Nitish Kumar does not need Ms. Banerjee’s advice. The situation in West Bengal is a serious concern. It is out of control. Look at Bihar, Bihar is completely peaceful. In 20 years, there are no riots in Bihar.
