According to a protest meeting organized by Jamiyyathul Ulama Coordination Committee Ernakulam, the WAQF (Amendment) Act, in 2025, the constitutional guaranteed rights of ethnic minority communities were usurped.
Samastha Kerala Jamiyathul Ulama Chairman Syed Mohammed Jifri Muthukoya Thangal said the new legislation would cause estrangement of millions of mosques, Madrasas and burial sites. The meeting pointed out that this would even undermine the existence of Muslims in the country.
The meeting was determined to oppose the Union government's move to alienate WAQF property. Hosted by IB Usman Faizi, Syed Ibrahim Khaleel Bukhari delivered a keynote speech.
