Google Executive says the company ignores Openai bid for search cooperation

Washington: Alphabet’s Google testified in Tuesday’s Google Antitrust trial in Washington that Openai used Openai’s bid in Chatgpt to use its search technology.

Openai contacted Google after experiencing problems with its search provider. Chatgpt uses the technology of Microsoft’s search engine Bing.

“We believe that there are multiple partners, especially Google’s API, that can enable us to provide users with better products,” Openai told Google.
According to the email, Openai first reached out in July, and Google rejected the request in August, saying it would involve too many competitors. “We have no partnership with Google today,” Turi said.

A broad alliance of the U.S. Department of Justice and state attorneys generals is seeking orders from a Washington judge to ask Google to sell its Chrome browser and take other measures. What they hope to end is Google’s monopoly in online search and related advertising.

Turley said the Justice Department’s proposal to share search data with Google with competitors is a way to resume competition, which will help speed up efforts to improve Chatgpt.
