There is an opportunity to record biodiversity nearby about the Inaturalist app

Hyderabad: Hyderabad will once again participate in the Global Urban Nature Challenge (CNC) from April 25 to 28. The campaign encourages citizens to use the Inaturalist application to document biodiversity in their surroundings. Hyderabad has been top of the national rankings for the past two years and has maintained a strong global presence, with local residents spotting two previously undocumented species in the challenge last year.
This year, CNC Hyderabad has expanded its coverage across all areas of Telangana. Observations from anywhere in the state will be counted to the CNC Hyderabad project. The extension is expected to engage students, NGOs, wildlife groups and recreational observers who can all contribute to open source biodiversity data.
The Hyderabad chapter is coordinated by WWF-India, which will organize targeted meetings and nature throughout the city and elsewhere. Day and night trails will be conducted with local groups such as Hyderabad bird watching friends, Hyderabad natural lovers and Secunderabad and Social Save Rock. Partner organizations from outside Hyderabad, including the Orugallu Wildlife Association, will lead similar walks elsewhere.
Participants must observe wildlife and upload them to the app. Certificates will be issued digitally and top contributors will receive merchandise. Directed details will be followed after registration.
