Telugu women die from our car accident injury

Vijayawada: A Telugu woman, Vangavolu Deepthi, died of injuries while under treatment on Friday, in a major car accident in Texas on April 12. Deepthi and her friend Snigdha were walking home when they crashed and fled from the scene.

The Denton Police Department noted in an official press release that the accident occurred at 2.12 a.m. (12.40 p.m. IST on April 12) on Carril Al Lago Drive, located on residential streets near N. Bonnie Brae Street and W. University Drive.

“Witnesses reported that a dark sedan attacked two female pedestrians on the road, but did not stop,” the release said.

Local media house reports Deepthi and her friends were walking home crossing the street to reach their house when a dark Kia Optima car hit them and fled the scene.

Guntur resident Deepthi traveled to the United States in 2023 to pursue her master’s degree in science from the University of North Texas, just one month after the university received her degree.

Speaking to the media, Deepthi’s roommate Pavan Vallamsetty said she suffered blood loss on the right side of her brain while another suffered a fatal injury and had a minor surgery under her chin.

The GoFundMe page was initiated by Deepthi’s cousin Anand to help raise funds for her medical treatment. The page raised over $90,000 in less than four days. Deepthi’s body is expected to be repatriated to her hometown in Guntur in a final ceremony on Saturday.
