Frightened Pakistan makes this big decision after India accuses civilian flights as shield

These locations include Baramulla, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Ferozpur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Bhuj, Kuarbet and Lakhi Nala.

Pakistan temporarily closed the airspace on Saturday when India accused the former of using commercial flights as shields in a drone attack. By notifying the pilot (Notam), this decision was brought up amid a heightened tension between the two nuclear-weapon neighbors.

The move was seen at 26 locations in Pakistan, from Baramulla in the north to Bhuj in the south, along the international border and the control line with Pakistan, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement that the move was seen at night of intense drone activity on the northern and western borders of India.

These include armed drones suspected of posing a potential threat to civilians and military targets, the ministry added.

These locations include Baramulla, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Ferozpur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Bhuj, Kuarbet and Lakhi Nala.

Some target locations include major airports, advance military bases and civil aviation facilities. India successfully repelled every attack.

India accused Pakistan of endangering international space by keeping space open while performing drone and missile operations.

“Pakistan uses civilian passenger aircraft as a shield and knows that its attack on India will cause a rapid air defense response. It is safe for unsuspecting civilian aircraft, including international flights flying near the international border between India and Pakistan,” said Sofiya Qureshi Vikram Misri of the Army.

Pakistan deployed between 300 and 400 drones, identified preliminarily as Turkish-made Asisguard Songar models, on the night of May 8 and May 9. Many were intercepted using a combination of kinetic and electronic warfare systems, including the Barak-8 and S-400 Triumph missile defence platforms, Akash SAMs, and indigenous anti-drone technologies.

“Pure scale shows that this is a military attempt to deliberately test our ready. We responded to proportion,” Wing Commander Singh said in the briefing.

Locations targeted include Srinagar Airport, Awantipora Airbase, Nagrota, Jammu, Pathankot, Fazilka and Jaisalmer.

In Ferozpur, a drone attack on a civilian area injured three members of the local family. No Indian military devices were damaged.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a senior security review meeting with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and the head of service. Earlier on Friday, Prime Minister Modi also met the former chief of the former armed forces to comment on the evolving crisis.

Home Secretary Amit Shah reviewed civil preparations in states along the Pakistan border, especially around airports and high-value targets.
