When Shakti Kapoor talks about Govinda’s insecurity: “He’s been here…”

Shakti Kapoor once shared his thoughts about Govinda, his insecurity, on-site delays and how his behavior changed over time.

Bollywood star Shakti Kapoor is known for his extensive collaborations with Kader Khan in over 100 films and has won the logo at Hindi Cinema in nearly 50 films with Govinda, whose iconic character is both a villain and a comedian. However, his career is also surrounded by controversy.

Shakti Kapoor once shared his thoughts about Govinda, talking about topics such as insecurity, on-site delays and how Govinda’s behavior changed over time. This is what an experienced actor said.

“One of the things about him over the years was his punctual attitude. Earlier, he would arrive at 9 a.m. Now, he arrived at 9 a.m. shifts at 8:30 a.m..” The actor further added: “The insecure Aadmi Ko Kaha Se Kaha Pahucha Deti Hai. Now, he is very professional and the entire industry knows it.”

Speaking about his comeback, he said: “People say it’s too late for actors to make a comeback now. I don’t believe it. We’ve seen people like Amrish Puri start at the age of 44. It’s never too late for an actor or an artist.”

Govinda recently shared that he had played a role in India’s iconic performance Mahabharat but refused after accepting his mother’s advice. In a recent appearance on the Mukesh Khanna show, the No. 1 actor in Coolie revealed that he was being studied in the legendary series of BR Chopra. He also shared that he regularly visited the Chopra family home, where he helped Ravi Chopra’s wife, Renu Chopra, complete the family mission.

Govinda shares memories of the late 1980s, “Mein Unke Ghar Mein Jakar Kaam Vam Karta Tha (I would work from their home). RenuBhabhi would call me, ‘Chichi Beta aaja aaja ghar par (Chichi, Chichi, Chichi, Chichi, Chichi, Chichi, Chichi, Chichi, Chichi, Go home). I would clear the house.” I don’t think BR Chopra knew I had been to his house and Aunty (Madam Chopra) loved me so much.

In BR Chopra’s Mahabharat, Govinda was awarded the role of Abhimanyu. But when the young actor was told about his role, he refused and the producer couldn’t handle his rejection. “I got to his office and he told me he chose me to play the role Abhimanyu played in Mahabharat. I told him, ‘My mom said not to play this role. I wouldn’t do it.’ He asked me, “What is your mom?” “I told him she was Sadhvi and that movie was secondary to me and I just told me what to do.
