Two Maoists were arrested and surrendered in the ASR area

In addition, 10 Maoists in the ASR Regional Police Chief (SP) Amit Bardar was upset about their ideology.
The arrested Maoists were identified as Madakam comics, also known as Mangal and Madivi Ramesh, alias Pradeep.
The 35-year-old comic is the commander of the Regional Commission Member (ACM) and the Sabari Local Organization Squad (LOS). According to police records, he has been engaged in Maoist activities since childhood, initially working with Maoist-run Balala Sangham. He became a member of the militia in January 2015 and was promoted to his current leadership position in January 2025. The comic allegedly involved 18 criminal cases in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Chhattisgarh.
Another Maoist arrested was Ramesh, 23, a member of Cherla Los. He reportedly joined the Maoist ranking in October 2023 after being influenced by revolutionary literature and speech. Police linked him to four crimes, including planting fool traps, targeting security forces and conducting ransomware activities.
While arresting the duo, security forces seized a 303 rifle from them, including five rounds of live shots, two knives, communication equipment, revolutionary literature and Rs 24,900 in cash.

The arrests were conducted under various parts of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Andhra Pradesh Public Safety Act, Illegal Activities (Prevention) Act, Weapons Act and the Telecommunications Act 2023.

The surrendered Maoists included a department committee member, a regional committee member and a voluntary committee member, mainly from the tribal communities in Sukma and Bijapur regions of Chhattisgarh. They are identified as Kadithi Rama (44), Kadithi Mangili (30), Kovvasi Sukki (22), Sodi Raju (30), Sodi Kosa (31), Kurasama Nagaraju (23), Badisa Bhimaiah (30), Madakam Pojja (50) and Kaluma and 26, a large number of

Many of these people have been active for more than a decade, causing themselves to violent encounters with security forces, including ambushing, robbery and attacks on police camps in Chhattisgarh.

The surrendered expressed frustration with Maoist ideology, pointing to internal discrimination against tribal members, exploitation of Gedicoya youth and the abuse of cadres by non-tribal leaders in order to seek personal gain.
During the surrender ceremony, ASR SP Amit Bardar said: “This is an opportunity to rebuild life and make positive contributions to society.” He assured Maoists that they have the right to all the benefits they enjoy in surrender and will provide rehabilitation policies to help them transition to a peaceful life.

However, Amit Bardar warned that strict action will be taken against anyone who cooperates with the banned Maoist party or engages in anti-social activities. He also urged the public to report any information related to the Maoist movement to the police.
