Looking for a fisherman who disappeared after he was fishing in Kodiyakkarai on Saturday.
Three fishermen ventured into the sea on a fiberglass boat owned by Kuttiyandiyur in Mayiladutthurai. Lakshmanan, 40, was from Keela Mookkai near Sirkazhi, fishing with P. Mahalingam, 55, and C. Santhosh, 48, when Rough Sean caused the boat to swing about 15 nautical miles east of Kodiyakkarai. Mr. Lakshmanan lost his balance and fell.
Despite his efforts, he was unable to rescue him. The other two returned to shore on Saturday night and informed the authorities. A search operation involving local fishermen and marine officials was launched on Sunday.
