Immigrants from South America are turning their journey back to the south under the crackdown of immigrants by U.S. President Donald Trump. A group of passengers on the ferry also included many Venezuelan immigrants returning home. According to passenger Yaifer Alejandra, she never arrived at her destination. Wilson Duarte and his pregnant wife said they decided to leave New York after receiving a deportation order. They are now back in Caracas, Duarte’s hometown. In the coastal city of Puerto Rico, immigrants spend the night before heading to La Miel on another boat. Venezuelan immigrants hike into Colombia in La Miel. These passengers cannot be sent back to Venezuela from Panama because there is no diplomatic relationship between the two countries
