Salman Khan’s version of Eid has been a major event for movie lovers over the years. His fans are eagerly awaiting his movies, and he always tries to make a sensation. This year, he brought the highly anticipated film Sikandar.
However, the film didn’t meet box office expectations. Nevertheless, it is pushing Eid al-Fitr, bringing India’s total revenue to Rs 5.5 crore. According to a report by Sacnilk, Sikandar made Rs 26 million on all languages of the open house. On Monday, the collection increased to Rs 2.9 crore, with overall Hindi occupancy of 24.60%. The morning performance had 8.38% pace, while the afternoon and evening performances were 26.70% and 30.18% respectively. The highest turnout rate was 33.12% at night.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s action thriller L2: Empuraan performed well at the box office, earning Rs 70 crore in just five days. The Lucifer sequel continues to attract cross-language audiences with solid performance.
According to Sacnilk’s early estimates, L2:Empuraan received around Rs 11 crore in revenue on its first Monday (day 5), with its total net income from India reaching Rs 7 billion. The Malayalam version has already taken the lead and has a significant share of the movie’s revenue. On day 1 (Thursday), L2: Empuraan opens with revenue of Rs 21 crore. Day 2 (Friday) fell and earned Rs 111 crore. The film gained momentum on the weekend, charging Rs 13.25 crore on Day 3 (Saturday) and Rs 13.65 crore on Day 4 (Sunday). On day 5 (Monday), early estimates indicated that it made Rs 11 crore, bringing India’s net income to Rs 7 billion.
