The 32-year-old pro-Palestinian actor is trying to announce the views of the British jury for songs from each participating country in the finals.
But the BBC issued a statement Thursday night, replacing him with singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, triggering speculation, a protest in the end.

Gatwa has been supporting Batlestine before, sharing photos of free Palestinian graffiti in Italy on his Instagram and posting links to fundraising for the Palestinian cause.
Apart from the BBC’s initial “unforeseeable situation” message, the reason why Gatwa left his last minute’s reception duties is unclear, but fans speculate that Israel’s qualifications are the reasons.

“Unforeseen circumstances, Ncuti Gatwa is unfortunately no longer able to play in the spokesperson in this weekend’s finals,” the BBC confirmed in an Instagram statement on Thursday.
A professional Palestinian social media commentator said: “Israel won the Eurovision final last night at 22:16. Then at 22:18 two minutes later, the BBC announced that Ncuti Gatwa canceled his “unpredicted situation” appearance on Eurovision. We meet you ncuti; we meet you, we love you very much.

Israel’s semi-final performance in Basel, Switzerland was interrupted by six pro-Palestinian protesters carrying large flags and suddenly withdrew its troops. All flags are allowed under arena rules, but the scale is limited, so the audience is quickly popped up by St Jakobshalle Arena.
Later, videos of the TV broadcast semi-finals showed that the Israelites were once again booed by some parts of the audience.
In social media videos, Yeers is even more likely to hear videos of the show – but Ms. Raphael remains one of ten acts to succeed in the public vote and reach the finals.
This year’s competition is often targeted by pro-Palestinian militants targeting Israel’s participation.
