BJP President JP NADDA.
The BJP was criticized by its MPs Nishikant Dubey and Dinesh Sharma on Saturday (April 19, 2025) for the Supreme Court criticism, with party chairman JP NADDA rejecting the comments as their personal views and therefore criticizing itself.
He also confirmed the respect of the ruling party for the judiciary, an integral part of democracy.
“The BJP has nothing to do with comments from MPs Nishikant Dubey and Dinesh Sharma on the justice and the chief justice. This is their personal comment, but the BJP has both disagree with them and has supported such remarks. The BJP has absolutely rejected them,” Mr Nada said in an article on x.
He said he had directed leaders and other party members not to make such comments.
Mr Nada said the BJP has always respected the judiciary and has happily accepted its advice and orders because it believes that as a political party, all courts, including the Supreme Court, are an integral part of our democracy.
“They are a powerful pillar of protecting the Constitution,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Dubey, one of the more vocal party members of Lok Sabha, launched a broad side to the Supreme Court, saying that parliament and state parliament should be closed if the top court had to enact laws.
He also wiped Cji Khanna.
Mr. Dolby also claimed CJI Khanna was responsible for the country’s “civil war”.
Mr Sharma, former deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, also criticized the Supreme Court, saying no one could command the parliament or the president.
