After the Pahargham terrorist attack shocked the United States on Tuesday, Jamu and the Kashmir Private School Association (PSAJK) announced that fire in Pahargham, including tourists from Pahargham, south of South Kashmir, were opened in Pahargham, in the Anatnag region after terrorists opened fire on civilians. The move has been seen as a sign of respect and solidarity for the victims and their families. PSAJK announced the complete closure of all private schools in Jamu and Kashmir on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
However, there have been no announcements to close banks, universities or other states and private entities.
The closure of schools throughout the region was a sign of mourning and a peaceful protest against inhumane killings by at least 27 Hindus, an incident that hurt many. PSAJK President GN Var said: “We strongly condemn the terrorist attack on Pahalgam and unwaveringly unite with the families of the dead. The school’s closure is a symbolic gesture to express our collective sorrow and anger and to reaffirm our commitment to peace and humanity.”
The organization also urges the entire educational community to come together to pray and remember the life of life and calls on a diverse community to work for peace and security for the future of our country.
The Army and Jamu and Kashmir Police Departments began a search operation in the general area of Pahalgam, Anantnag to include the perpetrators of the attack.
