Will Sindoor Operation affect the Pakistan Premier League? PCB destroys silence

As the Pakistan Premier League (PSL) continues, the safety of players is worrying as tensions between Pakistan and its neighbors rise.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to continue the Pakistan Premier League (PSL) despite recent cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. The lives of 26 innocent people were the lives of 26 innocent people after the tragic Pahargam terrorist attack on April 22, with Indian troops making missile strikes in nine terrorist camps in Pakistan as part of Operation Sindor.
As PSL continues in Pakistan, it is understandable that the increased cross-border tensions have become a topic of discussion, especially with regard to the safety of local and overseas players participating in the game.
According to a report by NDTV, there are currently no requirements for overseas players to withdraw from PSL.
“Media managers in the league's six franchises said it was a developing situation, but so far, none of their team's overseas players have asked to leave the league. Each franchises in the league have 5-6 overseas players.”
Amid these developments, the PCB issued a statement on Wednesday confirming that the PSL will proceed as planned.
“The Pakistan Cricket Committee has confirmed that the Pakistan Premier League X will continue to move forward as planned with the Islamabad United, taking over the Quetta Gladiator later today at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium,” the PCB statement said.
“The toss will be held at 7.30 pm and the first ball will be held at 8 pm. Tonight’s match will return HBL PSL to Rawalpindi, with four games on May 7, 8, 9 and 10 May. The final group stage will be scheduled for May 11 in Multan.
It added: “The qualifiers are scheduled to be held in Rawalpindi on May 13, while the finals of the Eliminations (1 and 2) and Maqui's event will be held at Gaddafi Stadium on May 14, 16 and 18, respectively.”
The Bangladesh Cricket Council (BCB) is actively monitoring the situation in Pakistan to ensure the safety of players participating in the Pakistan Premier League (PSL). Currently, Bangladesh has two players, Rishad Hossain (Lahore Qalandars) and Nahid Rana (Peshawar Zalmi), who participated in PSL 2025.
