Citizens of North Andhra remain vigilant about border development

Visakhapatnam: Residents in North Andhra are closely monitoring the renewal of border areas as the central government initiates operation Sindoor. From Srikakulam to Alluri Sitarama Raju district, people are adjusting their television broadcasts, newspapers and social media platforms to keep up with the latest developments.
Many families in rural areas have at least one member serving in the armed forces and stationed on the border. Dunna Janakiram, a former Sarpanch who lives in the Donkur village of Burjupadu Panchayat in Ichchapuram Mandal, called Deccan Chronicle to ask about the Indo-Pak border.
The elder resident expressed concern and pride in the movement near the borders of India's Parker. “We arranged a marriage to Togi Laxman, who is currently stationed on the border. Ullapatu Shobhan Babu also posted there, Dunna Pradeep serving in Ladakh. While I feel sorry for them, I am also proud of them defending the country,” said Sarpanch, a former villager.
On Wednesday, the youth actively engaged in civil simulation exercises conducted in various locations in Visakhapatnam. M. Karthik, a sophomore intermediate student, observed the drills and commented: “I am against war. But if Pakistan provokes, I will fight with all my heart.”
Ninth-grade student U. Shiva shared his thoughts, reflecting the recent terrorist attack, “I saw kids like me lose their father in the Pahalgam attack. I believe Operation Sindoor is providing justice for them.”
Young children are also aware of the seriousness of this situation. N. Sandeep, six, participated in a civil simulation exercise, holding mother Lakshmi's hand and watched in confusion as emergency responders showed evacuation measures. “I saw the injured people being taken to the hospital, some hiding under the table. When I saw all this, I didn't understand what was going on. But I knew something was happening in our Army Jiawan people.”
