Hyderabad: Nirmal police rescued three family members from Nizamabad on Thursday, trying to end their lives in the Godavari River and consult them before handing them over to relatives.
Komati Ganga Prasad, a resident of Nizamabad town, came to the Godavari River in Basara with his two daughters Vaishalai (6) and Ranavitha (4), and ended his life. Seeing them, two police officers patrolling near the bridge rescued him and took him to the police station.
Police officials consulted Prasad and handed him and his children to relatives. During the consultation, Prasad said in police that he wanted to take drastic steps due to family issues. Police officials advised him not to lose confidence and to try to negotiate with the elders to resolve the issue.
