On April 22, 2025 (22 April 2025), Dr Anbumani Ramadoss, Chairman of Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), urged the Tamil Nadu government to withdraw a government order that recruits Group D staff from the Government Auxiliary Academy only based on the contract of the contract.

This should not be done when the demand for converting contractual jobs to permanent jobs is growing.

Media reports noted that the Tamil Nadu government plans to expand outsourcing (currently only practiced in certain higher education and public sector institutions) to all sectors, adding: “If such a decision is implemented, it could lead to the cancellation of 1,50,000 jobs in Tamil Nadu.”

DMK has promised that all temporary employees who have served for more than 10 years will be formalized, 3,50,000 government jobs will be provided and 20,00,000 new positions will be created. “The government is not fulfilling these promises now, but rather eliminates existing positions and converts permanent jobs into contract jobs,” he said.
