DMK leader and minister K. Ponmudy was deprived of the party’s deputy secretary-general TTV Dhinakaran on Friday (11 April 2025) and asked him to withdraw from the cabinet as well.
“Minister Pommody’s indecent remarks on women are condemnable. Chief Minister MK Stalin should consider whether he should continue to serve as minister,” Mr Dhinakaran said in a social media post.
Mr Dhinakaran further argued that the Chief Minister’s indifference to other controversial comments made by the Minister had previously led him to make more of such comments.
The founder of AMMK further urged the DMK President to direct his party members how to treat women with respect and dignity.
