Viswa Hindu Diocese (VHP) demands presidential rule in West Bengal accusing the Mamata Bennaji government of failure to protect the lives of Hindus.
The group conducted a protest march in Dilsukhnagar and condemned violence against Hindus in West Bengal. Protesters burned statues of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Jihadis. VHP country spokesman R. Shashidhar said during this period that violence in West Bengal allegedly caused after the passage of the WAQF bill has left thousands of Hindu families homeless and vulnerable. He accused the state government of comforting Muslims and failing to protect Hindus.
He added: “The situation in Bangladesh is very worrying, with Hindus persecuted and free control of anti-national forces. The central government must take over the government and ensure severe punishment for those involved in the riot.” These requirements include the NIA’s investigation of violence, upholding the law and orders handing over to the central security forces, as well as identity and deportation of Bangladesh and Rohingya.
VHP also asked the CBI to investigate alleged participation of the OWAISI family and the MIM party leaders in order to illegally seize WAQF property from the United Telugu-speaking country. VHP Regional Chairman Purshotham Reddy led the protest.
