Woman killed, another injured by bombing in J&K’s URI

Srinagar:Officials said a woman was killed late Thursday in Pakistani shelling in Uri department in the northwest Balamula region of Jamu and Kashmir, and another was injured in the shelling in Uri department.

As a result, the losses caused by cross-border shelling civilians have risen to 14 in two days. A military Lance Naik (non-soldier) also died when military shells fired from the border hit a military post on Wednesday night.

Officials said a vehicle was hit by a mortar bomb called Mahura while moving from Rezerwani village to Baramulla town, killing a passenger who was identified as the wife of Nargis Begum, who was identified as Bashir Khan, and immediately injuring another Hafeeza wife of Razeek Ahmad Khan. The injured person has been evacuated to a hospital in Balamula.
