Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Saturday (May 10) claimed that this would affect innocent civilians.
“These people remain silent when 26 people were killed, leaving several of our sisters widowed,” he said, urging a change in attitude in this situation. The Governor held the 45th State Assembly (Sanskrit Pratishthanam) in Kozhikode on Saturday, the Kerala unit of Sanskrit Bharati.
He said that Sanskrit is the language of this land, and through the spread of language, Sanskrit has participated in evoking a person’s sense of identity. He added: “Language, culture and myth are all part of a person’s identity. One should not forget it.”
Sathyananda Bharathi, Secretary-General of Sanskrit, delivered a keynote speech. State President PK Sankaranarayanan hosted the event.
