World News When U.S. Senator Meets El Salvador Man Deported

The White House publicly targeted Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen on Friday to meet with Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was expelled from a prison in El Salvador, U.S. It also “fixed” the New York Times title, introducing the meeting between the senator and the expelled El Salvadors.

In an article on social media platform X, the White House account shared screenshots of the title and pictures of the Senate meeting in the New York Times. “@nytimes.Open”, then, @chrisvanhollen – He didn’t come back,” the post read.

NYT’s title is: “Senator was wrongly expelled from Maryland in El Salvador.” The White House changed it to “Senator meets with the deported MS-13 illegal aliens in El Salvador,” adding: “Who will never come back.”

Kilmar Abrego Garcia expelled

According to media reports, Garcia is an undocumented immigrant from the United States and lives in Maryland with his family. He was accused by the government of appointing a member of the MS-13 gang of foreign terrorist organizations.

Later, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Garcia’s deportation was an “administrative error.” However, the Trump administration rejected his return.

Senator Van Hollen meets Kilmar Abrego Garcia

The Maryland Senator is facing opposition in the United States after he met with Garcia in El Salvador.

In an article on X, Senator Van Hollen shared photos of him meeting with Garcia and said that the main goal of his trip to El Salvador was to meet with the expelled men.

He wrote: “I said the main goal of this trip was to meet Kilma. I had a chance tonight. I called his wife, Jennifer, to convey his love message. I look forward to providing a full update when I return.”

In another article, the Senator said it was obvious that Garcia’s deportation was “illegal kidnapping.”

“I went to El Salvador and wanted to meet Kilmar and check his well-being, and I had the opportunity to do so last night. Our court was clear: it was an illegal kidnapping. I’m talking about my job with Kilmar and our jobs now.”

The Trump administration firmly stance on the allegations against Garcia.
