Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri abuses on social media; IAS, IPS Association supports

After Foreign Minister Vikram Misri suffered vicious trolls on social media on Sunday (May 11, 2025), a day ago, announcing on behalf of the government that India and Pakistan have agreed to stop military operations, the IAS Association has “unanimously opposed “personal attacks without tiring”.

The Indian Administrative Services (IAS) Association released on X maintains solidarity with Mr Misri and his family. The association is published on X.
The Indian Police Service (IPS) Association also condemned the personal attack on Mr Misri. “Explanatory condemnation of the pathetic personal attack on Foreign Secretary Shri Vikram Misri and his family. This unreasonable attack on civil servants who take on their duties is absolutely unbearable,” the IPS Association released on X.

Mr Misri’s personal account on X has been vulgar commented by users who accused him of reaching an agreement with Pakistan.
Officials must lock their daughter’s public account after comments on their abuse.

Asaduddin Owaisi, president of Aimim and member of the Hyderabad parliament, said on X: “Our civil servants work under executive officers and must remember this and should not blame them for the decisions of the Chief Executive/or any political leader or any political leader.”
The pilot of Congress leader Sachin condemned social media targeting the family of foreign ministers.
“For our professional diplomats and civil servants, it’s unacceptable – those who are committed to serving the country,” the pilot said on X.

Deputy Congress leader Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi said Mr Misri performed his duties impeccably, adding: “There is absolutely no reason to make him feel malicious about him. He only conveyed a message of Indian political leadership.”
V Srinivas, secretary of Administrative Reform and Public Dissatisfaction (DARPG), also expressed solidarity with his critics. Mr Srinivas posted on X: “Vikram Misri is one of India’s most famous diplomats and it always represents the best service values of self and the country, and I express my unity with him.”
