Young people attack interfaith marriage on suspicion of “honor attack”

A 28-year-old Muslim man was brutally attacked on suspicion of marrying a Hindu woman, allegedly trying to kill him. The incident took place on Saturday on a ground in CM Nagar in CM Nagar in Kannur.
Pariyaram police have conducted cases against two defendants under the cases of Sections 126(2), 118(2), 109(1), 3(5). One defendant, Rinoy Felix, former president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was arrested while another defendant, Daveed, absconded.
The two were accused of being angry with a faith marriage, faced with victim N. Noufal and brutally attacked him, according to police.
Noufal is a local Thevalakkara in Kollam Karunagapally and has lived in Pilathara for more than five years.
According to police, the attacker intercepted Nofal, beat him with a cricket bat on his knee and hit him in the face with a stone after he fell.
Noufal has suffered severe injuries, including facial trauma and several injections, and is in critical condition and is currently receiving treatment at the Kannur Government Medical College Hospital.
